Rutva Pandya

I am a Master’s student in the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, advised by Jennifer Hu as part of the Group for Language & Intelligence.

I’m broadly interested in the intersection of Human & Machine Intelligence, with a focus on reasoning. My work aims to understand how human and machine intelligence align and diverge, using principles from cognitive science and computer science to improve the interpretability of language models.

Previously, I completed my B.S. in Computer Engineering with a minor in Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I was advised by Vikram Adve and Deepak Vasisht as part of the AIFARMS Institute, working on personalized dialogue systems. I also interned at Virtusa as a Machine Learning Engineer, building systems to evaluate LLM safety and reasoning performance.
